UĻA Premiere

“Uļa” is a visually and emotionally powerful story about identity, growing up, and the search for belonging. Set in Latvia in the late 1960s, the film follows Uļa, a teenage Old Believer who is nearly two metres tall. When her class photograph catches the attention of basketball coaches, she is taken to Riga to join a renowned basketball team. Struggling with her height and identity, she trains tirelessly but soon realises that she must make one of the most important choices of her life—to hide or to become the best basketball player in the world.
